What to Pack

Wardrobe Essentials for Travel

Try Adding Statement Jewelry to your Packing List

My artist friend, Donna Plunkett went on a cruise recently. She took only one pair of earrings! Horror! Then she lost them!  Double Horror!

I’m sure Donna was trying to pack light for her trip. But I think there is a better way.

Instead of going light on the jewelry, why not pack fewer clothes and get a different new outfit by changing your jewelry. The jewelry probably takes up less room.

Start with your basic wardrobe. Here’s how:

  • Choose two basic solid coordinating colors: Black and White, Brown and Tan, or Gray and White, etc.

  • Choose classic styles

  • Choose separates that can be mixed and matched.

  • Choose bright statement accessories like scarves and jewelry.

  • Select shoes that match each of your two selected basic colors, one dressy and one casual.

  • Find a “little black dress” in one of the basic colors that can be dressed up or not.

Then change up your basics with statement jewelry like these!

By the way, Donna Plunkett is an artist who creates fabulous pieces out of discarded paper. See her work here:  https://www.facebook.com/Porcupine Paper

You can apply the above principles to coordinating your at home wardrobe. For more details read the related Sparkle and Shine Blog Post: How to Dress Well
