Here's an Earring Hack to keep Earrings in your Ears

The Earring Tweak

During a recent jewelry making demo, I showed the group what to do with hook earring wires to make them hang nicely in pierced ears. More importantly, it balances the earring and helps to prevent dangle earrings from falling out of your ear.

Here’s how to do the “earring tweak”. Place the ear wire hook onto an ink pen or small round mandrel. (The Holiday Inn ink pen is one of my favorite tools).  The pen should be held horizontally. While holding the back of the hook straight down, push the front part of the hook until the loop is just under the pen. Don’t let the front touch the back. Leave an opening large enough to slip the earring into your ear lobe. The earring should now hang directly below your earlobe, and the back should be more vertical than horizontal.

Shaping the Ear Wires can help balance dangle earrings and keep them in earlobes.

Never fear, I always do this jewelry hack for every dangle earring that I make. Here are some other free services you get when purchasing earrings from Earthbeat Designs.
